Pecans + Salt + Maple + Sriracha = snack attack! These are great for camping, festivals and any activity that requires snacks!
This is a super simple and delicious way to enjoy pecans. You will need a dehydrator for this recipe. I have an excalibur 4 tray if anyone wants to know, one of the best investments I have made.
Spicy Maple Smoke Pecans
Adapted from: Salad Samurai's sriracha & smoke pecans
Difficulty: eazzzzzzy
Serves: not sure, 10 individual snacks AT LEASTTT
Ingredients
2 cups of pecans (whole or halves)
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 heaping tablespoon Sriracha
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
Grab all the ingredients! You're in for a treat!
Add the maple syrup, sriracha and liquid smoke into a medium sized bowl. Do not over-do it with the liquid smoke! Liquid smoke is a very powerful ingredient and can easily ruin what you are making. Now that I have scared you, move onto the next step.
Mix those three ingredients well and then add the pecans.
Stir for a minute or so to make sure all the pecans are coated evenly.
Place approximately one cup of pecans on each dehydrator tray. You can also use parchment paper if you don't have reusable sheets. Sprinkle with salt. Place trays in dehydrator for 8 hours on 125F.
There you go! Crunchy, sweet, spicy and salty all at once. Your mouth will be super happy. Store in a sealed container in fridge. ENJOY!
